What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first visit with a new practitioner is always a bit nerve-wracking. You aren’t sure what to expect or how well you’ll mesh with the provider. And it doesn’t help if you’ve never been to a chiropractor before that you have no clue what the diagnostic and treatment process will be like. 

Fortunately, when you visit our Chelsea chiropractor, we take every step to make the process as simple and comfortable as possible. Overall, the experience is nothing to fret over, so we’d like to take a few moments to explain what you can expect. 

Medical History Report 

Like with any practitioner you see, our chiropractors will ask you to complete a medical history report. These forms will ask you questions about any previous surgeries, injuries, etc. you’ve had and other similar information to help diagnose your condition and its severity. 

Office Tour

When you visit us for the first time, we want you to feel welcomed. That’s why, just as you would when you visit someone’s home, you’ll take a tour of our office. We’ll let you see the standard examination rooms and equipment we use.   

Discuss Your Concerns 

The next step of the process entails speaking with a wellness chiropractor from our practice about your specific concerns. We’ll want to know if any pain or discomfort you have and when it’s more prevalent.

If you don’t have any specific concerns and are looking for our preventative care, we’ll want to know about your goals or if you’re interested in improving your health overall. 

Determine if Imaging Is Necessary 

In most cases, we’ll conduct X-rays to visit your skeletal structure and assess for any abnormalities, such as spinal subluxations. 

Based on the results, we can figure out the appropriate treatment for you, like the target area of your adjustment. 

Conduct a Physical Assessment

Your first visit often consists of a physical examination, during which time, a wellness chiropractor will assess your range of motion and examine an injured area for bruising, swelling, or other signs of trauma. 

Create a Personalized Care Plan for You 

From our findings, a wellness chiropractor from our team will create a care plan tailored to your specific needs. At your visit, you’ll be told what your treatment will entail as well as the frequency of it and an anticipated timeline. This plan may change as you continue care with us.  

Answers to Your Questions  

At any time during your visit, we encourage you to ask any questions. We feel that any question worth thinking about is worth asking, so please feel free to ask us anything. 

Our patients deserve to know fully what to expect throughout the treatment process, the mechanism of action behind the treatments, and any other information that can help them better understand chiropractic care and their treatment plan. 

Through education, you can be informed and empowered, which will lead to you being able to make decisions about your health and wellness.

You’ll also have the knowledge to reduce any occurrences of pain and suffering while at home. 

We provide exercise recommendations and other helpful tidbits to enhance your treatment outside our office through expert advice.  

Time 

Our time is completely yours while you’re in our care, without distractions. We want to get to know you and provide you with an opportunity to get to know us. We want you to not only feel comfortable in our care but with us, too.
